HydroKlean only utilises specialist cleaning and care products specifically designed for the delicate nature of leather.

Cleans, Feeds, Protects  Deep cleans dirty and grimy leather with ease

Our service consists of a pre inspection to determine the type of leather and to identify any problem areas. Once this has been undertaken we carry out our specialist intensive hand cleaning process. On completion of this process we apply a specialist protection treatment. This treatment is designed to increase the durability of the leather that could become harmed by grease and general soiling from everyday wear.

The leather protection cream is also a leather conditioner that adds a protective barrier to leather that helps repels stains and protects the surface from wear and tear. The protective barrier also helps prevent the leather from absorbing dirt and so makes it clean easier in the future.

There are many different types of leather; here is a brief review of some of the most popular.

Pigmented Leather

Most leather sold today is pigmented leather, typically white or cream .It is leather treated with pigments which sit on the surface, similar to painting. It needs to be cleaned and maintained, to prevent a build up of dirt and to protect from catastrophic spillages and stains, which will permanently stain your suite. At Hydroklean we recommend a thorough clean once a year followed by treatment with our top quality protector. Maintenance should be a wipe over with a damp cloth, no detergent once a week. Pigmented leather is a bond between the pigment and the leather, which can be undermined by body oils etc and cleaning is important.

Anniline/Semi Anniline

This is quite common and is the type of leather, which is dyed using transparent dyes, so that the natural texture and blemishes of the leather show through, creating that natural look. It is a semi porous leather which needs to be cleaned with a foam cleaner. We recommend it is cleaned and protected once a year to maintain the leather in top condition.

Cleaning leather seats in cars or dining chairs is also important as both are subjected to harsh treatment by the sun and sticky fingers.
